MILAM COUNTY, Texas — The Milam County Sheriff’s Office announced on Monday the burn ban that was imposed over a month ago has been rescinded.

The decision came after consultations with the Milam County Fire Marshal and the Milam County Emergency Management Coordinator, who confirmed that the conditions necessitating the ban have significantly improved or no longer exist.

The burn ban was issued on Sept. 28.

The Commissioners Court Order was officially rescinded at noon on Oct. 27.

Residents are urged to exercise caution and use proper precautions when engaging in outdoor burning.
