SCHERTZ, Texas – A global music star with local roots made a return visit to Samuel Clemens High School, meeting with students and inspiring the next generation of musicians.
In a post shared on Facebook, Samuel Clemens High School said former Clemens student and “current Music Icon Peso Pluma” returned to campus to speak with music and EB students.
Your presence and passion for music inspire our current Buffs to reach for their dreams,” the school wrote. “It was an unforgettable experience filled with motivation and creativity. Thank you for taking the time to connect with the next generation of Buffs.
The school also highlighted a performance during the visit, writing, “What an experience for our Mariachis and Band getting to play in front of a musical Icon.”
Peso Pluma, whose real name is Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija, is a Mexican singer and rapper known for popularizing corridos tumbados.
He rose to global fame through hit songs and viral collaborations, including “Ella Baila Sola,” which made history on the Billboard Hot 100.
