The Dallas Cowboys are looking to bolster their pass rush group this offseason. Could they accomplish that feat by drafting a local college standout?
The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman recently shared his latest mock draft, where he had Dallas trading into the top five to take one of the top defenders in the class. In the mock, the Cowboys sent the 12th and 92nd overall picks to the Cardinals for the No. 3 selection.
With the third pick, the Cowboys were projected to take Texas Tech star David Bailey. While Feldman brought up the idea of Dallas landing Ohio State’s Arvell Reese, he went with Bailey at No. 3 since Reese was taken by the Jets at second overall.
Feldman described Bailey as a “true difference-maker” who could be a better edge rusher than Abdul Carter, who was taken third overall by the New York Giants in last year’s draft.
Bailey wasn’t Dallas’ only first-round selection in Feldman’s mock. At 20th overall, Feldman had the Cowboys selecting Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston. In the mock, Boston (6-4, 212 pounds) is likened to 2025 first-rounder Tetairoa McMillan.
“One big plus with Boston: He is physical and smart and was a dynamite special teams player,” Feldman wrote.
