AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is investigating the deaths of two individuals found in separate bodies of water over the weekend, with recent storm waters potentially playing a role in both cases.
On Saturday, Oct. 25, the body of a man was pulled from Lady Bird Lake near the 100 block of South 1st Street at around 10:30 a.m., while a woman was found dead in Shoal Creek in the 4700 block of Unity Circle at around 5:22 p.m.

Preliminary investigations suggest that storm waters may have contributed to the deaths. Neither case is currently being treated as a homicide.
The Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death.
Authorities are withholding further information until the victims are identified and their next of kin are notified.
