IDALOU, Texas (KCBD) – The City of Idalou is proceeding with water infrastructure improvements after receiving federal funding approval.
The city applied for funding from the USDA in July, which was recently approved. The money will be used to build a new water treatment plant and water tower.
The new tower was constructed over the weekend and still needs a coat of paint. It is designed to hold 100,000 gallons of water, which is double the capacity of the city’s current tower.
The total cost of the project is estimated at $1.4 million. City officials expect the transition to be complete by March of next year.
