EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 10 East Thursday night, according to the El Paso Fire Department.
Fire officials said crews received the call just before 8 p.m. for a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on the freeway.
The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, fire officials said.
A live TxDOT camera at I-10 East and Porfirio Diaz showed traffic heavily backed up as all lanes were closed in the area.
No additional information was immediately available, including what led up to the crash or how long the closure would last.
Drivers were urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
