EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Police Department announced that a pedestrian involved in a serious crash on Sunday, April 5, has died

The Special Traffic Investigation Unit responded to a crash yesterday morning at 100 North Kansas Street and 300 Texas Avenue, when a 2011 Volvo S40 struck a pedestrian walking in a designated crosswalk, causing nearby areas to be blocked off.

Police investigating crash involving pedestrian in Downtown El Paso

EPPD reported this morning that the pedestrian, identified as 74-year-old Maria Patrocinio Longoria, has died.

The driver, Roberto Rodriguez, 86, allegedly failed to yield to Longoria when she was walking across Kansas Street.

Officials from EPPD stated that the investigation is being continued.
