In addition to the 10 p.m. Nightbeat newscast featuring Myra Arthur and Ernie Zuniga, KSAT 12 viewers in the Alamo City will soon be able to watch a 9 p.m. broadcast exclusively on KSAT+, the station’s streaming arm, and online. The Nightbeat at 9P will be anchored by Arthur and Zuniga and is set to give “viewers an earlier opportunity to stay informed with the latest local news, weather, sports, and breaking updates,” according to the station.

The duo — which Arthur called “a natural fit” when she moved into the evening anchor chair in February — is also on air at 5 and 6 p.m.

“This expansion reflects KSAT12’s ongoing commitment to serving the San Antonio and South Texas community with timely, accessible journalism across all platforms. By introducing a 9 p.m. streaming newscast, KSAT is meeting audiences when and where they are—delivering critical information on their schedule and on their favorite way to watch,” a statement from KSAT 12 reads.

The new broadcast will premiere on Monday, April 13, though the usual 10 p.m. Nightbeat will continue to air on TV and stream on KSAT+. In the statement, KSAT News Director Jace Larson called the addition an “exciting step forward in how we serve our audience.”

“Launching The Nightbeat at 9P on KSAT+ allows us to expand our coverage and provide viewers with the news they need earlier in the evening, without compromising the depth and quality they expect from our team,” according to Larson.

KSAT Vice President and General Manager Ashley Parker said, “Our mission has always been to put our community first. As viewing habits evolve, we are evolving with them—bringing more local content, more convenience, and more ways for our audience to stay informed. The Nightbeat at 9P is another example of our dedication to innovation and public service.”
