LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – One person is in jail following a shooting on Easter Sunday.
Lubbock police said officers were called to the area of Parkway Dr. and Cesar Chavez Dr. for a civil disturbance just before 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.
When they arrived, officers found 19-year-old Coby Gonzalez with a gunshot to his hand. He was taken to UMC by ambulance with minor injuries.
After its initial investigation, LPD said 40-year-old Margarito Sarmiento Espinoza got into an argument with someone, who is not named right now, when he then punched 39-year-old Romana Cuellar in the face.

After that happened, Sarmiento pulled out a gun and shot Gonzalez, who was a bystander.
Sarmiento was arrested and booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on one charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one charge of assault causing bodily injury.
He is also being held on an Immigration Customs Enforcement detainer. His bond is set at a total of $45,000.
