On April 3, officers were called around 12:45 a.m. to a home near Aaron Place and Burton Avenue after reports of gunfire.

Police said a white Toyota Prius drove by the home and opened fire, sending multiple rounds into the house.

Investigators say one of the bullets traveled through a wall and struck the 40-year-old woman in the head.

Five other people were inside the home at the time of the shooting but were not injured. Police said those individuals were taken in for questioning as witnesses.

Some neighbors we spoke to said the area where the shooting happened is dangerous, telling media that they say they constantly see strange cars coming and going from the location late in the night, picking up things like backpacks.

The investigation is ongoing.
