LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The city is planning a series of public meetings to discuss the Arnett Benson neighborhood plan.
City leaders presented some of its ideas to improve the area at a meeting last week.
Residents shared some of their biggest issues. Those included vacant housing, wanting to add speed bumps in some areas and keeping the neighborhood safe for the families who live there.
The upcoming meetings are the first phase of the city’s neighborhood planning program, which is part of Lubbock’s 20-40 Comprehensive Plan. It aims to enhance all areas of Lubbock.
The first meeting will be held Thursday at the Maggie Trejo Supercenter. It will focus on the existing conditions of transportation infrastructure like roads, sidewalks and bicycle facilities.
