LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Two Texas Tech colleges are making strides in the U.S. News and World Report rankings for best graduate programs.
The university’s biggest improvements came in the areas of engineering and law.
Engineering jumps 12 spots
According to the report, the Edward E. Whitacre College of Engineering jumped 12 spots to number 105.
The ranking highlights seven programs that ranked within the top 100, led by petroleum engineering, which ranked in the top 10.
Law school ranks in top half
The School of Law ranked number 85, ranking in the top half of schools honored.
Thirteen of its programs also made the list, mostly ranking within the top 100.
Texas Tech’s College of Education also earned a top three spot among schools in the state of Texas.
Mark Sheridan, dean of the Texas Tech Graduate School, said the rankings “reflect the growing quality of our graduate programs and Texas Tech’s impact on innovation and supporting the economy of the state and nation.”
