Rangers starter Nathan Eovaldi hit a milestone on Tuesday in what was the 300th start of his major league career.
On a night of nice round numbers, Eovaldi also struck out his 1,500th career batter with his first strikeout against the Mariners.
Eovaldi has spent the past four seasons with the Rangers and has been nothing short of stellar. He entered Tuesday with a 35-18 record in Texas, his .660 win percentage the highest in team history for anyone with more than 400 innings pitched. He has an ERA of 3.30 during his time with Texas.
In total, 440 of Eovaldi’s 1,500 career strikeouts have come with the Rangers.
Unfortunately for Eovaldi, both Tuesday’s start and the 2026 season as a whole have started out with a bit of a speedbump. He allowed a home run on the first pitch of the game on Tuesday, that coming after a pair of uncharacteristically rough starts to begin the year. He’s 0-2 with an 11.42 ERA so far in 2026.
That is, though, the smallest of sample sizes, and Rangers manager Skip Schumaker called his grizzled veteran starter “the last guy I’m worried about in there,” after Eovaldi’s start last Wednesday.
