It’s the series that most Texas A&M baseball fans had circled on their calendar since the schedule came out: A Lone Star Showdown in College Station.
Texas A&M (25-6, 7-5 SEC) just lost the College World Series to Tennessee and a reporter asked after the June 24, 2024 game if the rumors of him leaving to coach Texas (26-5, 9-3) were true. Schlossnagle denied the rumors, but the deal was made public the next day.
Texas went 2-1 in its recent SEC series against South Carolina while A&M did the same against Vanderbilt. Texas is ranked second in the country by D1baseball.com and A&M is ranked No. 18.
