Expect some delays this morning, San Antonio drivers. A major crash on Interstate 37 has brought traffic to a halt on Wednesday, April 8, according to Texas Department of Transportation cameras.
The incident occurred around 6:54 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-37 at I-410 and U.S. 281, according to traffic monitoring site SigAlert. The crash has closed three lanes, backing up traffic to Southton Road and the Donop Road exits, not far from the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park area on the city’s Southside.
Folks are being warned of delays of up to an hour and are experiencing stop-and-go traffic, per Sig Alert. Drivers are traveling at about 5-20 mph.
TxDOT’s Transguide cameras show vehicles at a standstill and police lights at the scene. If this is your way to work or school, you may want to consider an alternate route. It’s unclear whether any injuries occurred in the crash.
