The video, posted by @kizzyrene, didn’t mention a specific address for the fast-food restaurant’s new location. According to Community Impact Pearland, the East Pearland Frenchy’s Chicken will be setting up shop in the space formerly home to Oh My Tea! at 1909 N. Main St. The bubble tea shop closed in January.

Frenchy’s has yet to add the Pearland location to their website’s list of restaurants. The chain has yet to respond to Chron’s request for more information about the new restaurant, including when it could open.

For decades, Frenchy’s Chicken has been a staple spot for fried chicken and New Orleans-inspired Creole comfort dishes. NOLA native Percy “Frenchy” Creuzot opened up his namesake restaurant in Houston’s Third Ward in 1969. Since, what began as a po-boy shop grew to a fried chicken franchise with multiple locations throughout Southeast Texas. Today, there are a dozen open including in Cypress, Houston, Humble, Katy, Longview and Rosharon, with another coming soon to Port Arthur.

But this wouldn’t be the first time Frenchy’s brought its famous fried tenders and wings to Pearland. In 2015, the chain opened a location at 9415 Broadway St., next to a Shipley Do-Nuts. But it was only in business for about three years before shuttering in 2018, as Community Impact previously reported.
