Emerson will relocate operations from its Round Rock facility to Austin over the next year or so, representatives confirmed in April.
What you need to know
The company will consolidate its real estate footprint in the Austin area, and listed its Round Rock facility at 1100 W. Louis Henna Blvd. for sale in March.
A representative of the company confirmed by email in April that Emerson will relocate all Austin-area employees to its North Austin campus at 11500 N. MoPac Expressway, Austin. Formerly owned by National Instruments, Emerson acquired the campus in October 2023.
This consolidation will relocate 1,400 employees from the Round Rock facility. Round Rock Chamber President Jordan Robinson confirmed the relocation will not result in a change in headcount.

What they’re saying
Robinson highlighted Emerson’s role in the Round Rock business community and said they have been a “good partner” to the city.
The facility is “plug and play,” she said, and would likely make a good home for another technology company in the future.
“There’s companies that are maybe newer in the market, but growing rapidly,” Robinson said. “We’re really focusing on aerospace or space and defense companies.”
The 300,000-square-foot building and property include Class A office space, research and development, as well as lab facilities, an attached four-floor parking garage with 981 spaces, with room for potential expansion, according to the property listing. It also has employee-facing amenities including a gym, cafeteria with a finishing kitchen, outdoor courtyard and barista area.
Remember this?
Emerson opened its Round Rock facility in 2012, serving as the company’s global headquarters for its process management operations. Ten years later, the city executed an economic development agreement with the company to make $9 million in real property improvements and add 50-60 jobs in exchange for a total of $500,000 in incentives. Robinson said the requirements of this agreement were met at the end of 2023, and Emerson received the agreed-upon incentive payment.
What’s next?
Per an Emerson spokesperson, Round Rock facility employees will relocate in phases as renovations to the Austin facility are completed.
