Sandwich captured the series over Plano with a 12-10 victory in Wednesday’s high school varsity baseball game broadcast live on WSPY, following the Indians’ 16-7 win in Monday’s opener. Braden Behringer led Sandwich offensively with three hits, while Nick Michalek and Anthony Wade each added two hits. Jeffrey Ashley launched a three-run home run and Griffin Somlock added a two-run homer in the same inning, and Behringer, Michalek and Wade each drove in two runs. Behringer also pitched a complete game, allowing 10 runs (nine earned) on 12 hits with no walks and 11 strikeouts. For Plano, Julian Gates paced the offense with three hits, including a home run, and three RBIs in the loss. Brandon Ramos, Jackson Gates and Eric Nunez each recorded two hits, with Jackson Gates doubling twice, Nunez hitting a double and a triple, and Ramos homering. With the win, Sandwich improved to 6-6-1 overall, while Plano fell to 4-7-1.

Kaneland earned a 6-5 win over St. Charles East as Nolan Claeson led the Knights with two hits, both doubles. Claeson also drove in two runs and scored twice in the victory.

Oswego defeated Morris 5-4 despite collecting only four hits as a team, with Graham Schwab accounting for three of them, including a double. Schwab drove in a run, while Brady Dunnett recorded the other hit and knocked in two runs for the Panthers.

Geneva topped Waubonsie Valley 9-5 behind three hits from Mason Bruesch to lead the offense. Aiden Hall drove in two runs, and Gavin Dworak added two hits to support the Vikings’ win.

Oswego East outlasted Naperville North 14-11 as Adyn Fowler led the offense with four hits, including a double, while driving in four runs and scoring twice. Noah Deist added two hits and scored two runs, and Devin Wheaton tripled and drove in two runs in the victory.

Newark fell 26-1 to LaSalle-Peru, managing only two hits as a team from Colin Shields and Jacob Seyller. Kaidden Bailey drove in the Norsemen’s lone run.

Marmion Academy rolled to a 17-0 win over Westmont as Robert Halverson and Adam Vogt each recorded two hits to lead the offense. Vogt drove in three runs, Halverson added two RBIs, and Luke Young also knocked in two runs. Brendan Kavanaugh pitched four innings, allowing two hits with one walk and striking out 10 to earn the win.
