AUSTIN, Texas — An Austin museum will be moving for a temporary time.

On Thursday, the Austin City Council approved a lease for the Mexic-Arte Museum to move to the Austin History Center for three years.

The city will only charge the museum $100 per year. The city is working on demolishing and rebuilding Mexic-Arte’s current location on Congress Avenue.

Mexic-Arte serves more than 75,000 visitors per year and hosts the largest and longest running Día de Muertos parade in the state.Â
