SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding Darrell Tremeyne Smith.
Deputies said Smith failed to register as a sex offender as required by law in August 2025.
According to the sheriff’s office, Smith provided authorities with an expired Texas ID and said he had an appointment to renew it. But when Bexar County followed up, the state confirmed he had not renewed his license.
Deputies also checked the address listed for Smith in the sex offender registry on Selene View, but deputies say they could not find him there. They said they also tried calling his cell phone and got no response.
Investigators are now searching for Smith on a warrant. According to deputies, he is required to register for life because of a 2003 sexual assault conviction.
Smith is described as 6 feet tall and 165 pounds.
