Free event at Beth Yeshurun April 23
Congregation Beth Yeshurun invites the community to “Rise Up: Heroes Independence Concert,” a powerful evening of live music and storytelling honoring extraordinary Jewish heroism in the wake of Oct. 7, 2023. The concert will be held Thursday, April 23, at 7 p.m., at the synagogue.
The program features internationally acclaimed Israeli musician Gilad Segev, who returned home after Oct. 7 to launch the Heroes Project, an initiative honoring everyday Israelis who displayed remarkable bravery, rooted in his own family history of sacrifice and resilience.
The project has since brought these stories to stages across North America and Israel, developed educational partnerships with StandWithUs and Taglit-Birthright Israel and earned the endorsement of Israeli President Itzhak Herzog.
Through live performance and moving narrative, the concert takes audiences on a journey of remembrance, resilience and unity – a fitting tribute as the Jewish community marks Yom HaZikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut.
Thanks to the generosity of Leslie and Russ Robinson and Cindy and Barry Weinstein, this program is free and open to the community. Registration is required forsecurity purposes at bethyeshurun.org/event/Rise-Up-Heroes-Concert.
