EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — International ballet stars are coming to El Paso to perform Swan Lake at the Plaza Theater, bringing Tchaikovsky’s iconic score to the stage with hand-painted sets and custom-made scenery elements.

The production features dancers moving through powerful choreography set to the famous music.

One dancer, Edgar Aamvelyan, told KFOX14/CBS4 on Friday he is excited to perform in front of an El Paso audience as he

“The biggest challenge in Swan Lake is to stay strong and clean in the whole performance because it’s really hard, and you must be focused and very careful in holding the performance. It’s very interesting because we have dancers from different countries, and we learn from each other; it makes companies stronger.”

He added, “Music gives emotion and timing, and when I listen to music, it’s easier to tell the story.”

The ballet is scheduled for two nights starting today. The first performance is set for 7 p.m. today, with a second performance at 7 p.m. tomorrow.

Tickets are now for sale here.
