EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The National Weather Service issued a blowing dust advisory in El Paso until 7 p.m. on Friday, April 10.
NWS is forecasting wind speeds, blowing south, of 17 mph with gusts reaching nearly 30 mph. The weather agency reported that a haboob approached their office in Santa Teresa, New Mexico just before 5 p.m. “It should move across the El Paso area between 5 to 5:15 with winds of 30 to 40 mph and visibilities of less than a mile possible,” meteorologists posted on X.

KTSM 9 viewer Xochitl Nanetti took a photo showing the rain in El Paso Lower Valley. She described the weather in her neighborhood writing, “Deep water and air bubbles forming on the roads in Lower Valley at 5:15 pm. Ground is saturated and visibility is low.”

The NWS is forecasting 50 percent of showers before 11 p.m. Friday, along with patchy blowing dust before 9 p.m.
