A North Texas pastor already charged with a felony involving a minor was arrested again this week after a new victim reported multiple sexual assaults.
It was the second arrest for Troyce “Troy” Hernandez, 50, founding pastor of True Grace Church in Arlington in about two months, authorities said. He was arrested by Irving Police Tuesday.
The most recent warrant involves a “delayed outcry” declaration made on March 24. According to the Irving Weekly, a woman arrived at the Irving Criminal Justice Center to report being sexually assaulted multiple times by Hernandez in January 2010.
At the time of the incidents, the then-18-year-old victim was living with Hernandez and his family in the 600 block of S. Briery Road in southwest Irving.

Hernandez, serving as a pastor, had reportedly volunteered to house the victim to mentor her in her faith and desire to do more for God within the church.
The victim said Hernandez came into her room, undressed her, began touching her sexually, then performed oral sex on her. The victim said she explicitly asked Hernandez not to do so. Acknowledging that she was not giving consent, he then raped her.
Irving Municipal Court Judge Jeffrey Cornell approved the warrant based on what investigators described as a “credible and detailed outcry.”
Authorities confirmed the charges are separate from an earlier case that led to Hernandez’s Jan. 29 arrest.
The April 7 arrest comes roughly two months after Hernandez was first taken into custody on a felony charge of indecency with a 14-year-old female relative tied to an alleged 2008 incident.
That accuser told police Hernandez began touching her while they watched a movie in an Irving apartment where she was living at the time, according to an arrest affidavit.
According to the affidavit, the victim said Hernandez “became erect” during the encounter and attempted to conceal himself with a pillow. Police said Hernandez later told investigators he “did not remember doing that but did not deny that it occurred.”
The allegation involving the female relative surfaced in 2025, nearly two decades later. Texas law allows prosecution of child indecency cases without a statute of limitations.
After Hernandez was arrested Jan. 29 and booked into the Dallas County jail, records indicated he was later released, although details of bond or conditions were not immediately clear.
The April 7 arrest returns Hernandez to custody. According to the Dallas Observer, he’ll be returned to the Dallas County jail where he’ll be arraigned and have bail set.
Attempts to reach True Grace Church for comment were not immediately successful. Following Hernandez’s initial arrest, references to him were removed from the church’s website.
As of now, Hernandez faces at least one felony count of indecency with a child related to the 2008 allegation, along with newly filed sexual assault charges stemming from the April 7 arrest.
