HOUSTON — A driver is dead after crashing into two 18-wheelers at a high rate of speed in northeast Houston Saturday night, police say.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. on Wallisville Road near Kress Street.

The Houston Police Department said witnesses reported a red Cadillac speeding down Wallisville before slamming into the first 18-wheeler. HPD said the car went underneath one of the 18-wheeler’s tires, continued on, and hit another 18-wheeler before coming to a stop.

The driver of the Cadillac was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was in that vehicle. The driver has not yet been identified.

Police said neither of the 18-wheeler drivers showed signs of intoxication.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
