Just in case you forgot how Texas likes to march to the beat of its own drum, this latest development should remind you. No, it doesn’t seem like something that any direct state should be getting involved in, at least in my opinion. What’s been said has been said, and that should be that.

Texas said, No thanks, we’re not like other states, so we’re going to jump into the battle on a local level and take a stand. Oh yeah, just going to mention that Texas is the first state to independently take a stand on this issue.

Recap Of The Tylenol Saga

In case you’ve been living under a rock or simply don’t pay attention to the news these days, President Trump and his administration recently stated that Tylenol and autism appear to be linked to one another.

This caused some panic across the country and also had the makers of Tylenol, Johnson & Johnson, and Kenvue, trying to prove that the claims were false.

Texas Suing Johnson & Johnson and Kenvue

For those who aren’t sure who Johnson & Johnson or Kenvue is, they are the makers of Tylenol. To say they’re going through it a bit right now is an understatement. They’ve been on a mission to prove these two things aren’t linked, and there’s even a doctor in Amarillo who agrees that Tylenol is still safe to take in moderation.

Texas, however, has decided it wants to be the first state to sue them. They are claiming that the makers of Tylenol deceptively marketed the drug to pregnant women, claiming they knew about the risks associated with it.

Attorney General Ken Paxton Vocal

In a statement from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, he stated, “Big Pharma betrayed America by profiting off of pain and pushing pills regardless of the risks.” He continued, “These corporations lied for decades, knowingly endangering millions to line their pockets. … By holding Big Pharma accountable for poisoning our people, we will help Make America Healthy Again.”

Kenvue responded to Paxton’s remarks, saying they are “deeply concerned by the perpetuation of misinformation on the safety of acetaminophen and the potential impact that could have on the health of American women and children.” This has the potential to be a landmark case, so stay tuned. The fun is just beginning.
