LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A handful of isolated showers and storms has created pockets of cooler temperatures and more cloud cover this afternoon and evening for some of the South Plains. A slightly unsettled weather pattern of light, daily rain chances are on the way as we push into the middle and second half of this coming week.
Widespread rain fell for a good chunk of the South Plains. The Big Country picked up more than 5 inches in some spots!(Dylan Smith)
TONIGHT
Quiet and mild with overnight low temperatures dropping into the 50s and lower 60s.
A mild and breezy night is in store as we stay well above average low temperatures(Dylan Smith)
Winds will remain a light breeze of around 10 to 20 mph overnight.
MONDAY
A warm and sunny day ahead! High temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 80s for the afternoon. Winds will stay fairly breezy around 10 to 20 mph with gusts of close to 30 mph at times.

A small chance to see a handful of showers is possible in the afternoon and early evening hours.
UPCOMING WEATHER PATTERN
While I’m not anticipating another widespread rain event for the foreseeable future, I am expecting daily shots of isolated showers and storms as we gear up for the middle and second half of next week.
Nothing overly promising each day, but there is a light chance of rain primarily in the afternoon hours over the next several days.(Dylan Smith)
Temperatures are looking to stay pretty consistent in the 80s for now. Next weekend we could be eyeing another cold front that may drop temperatures noticeably into the 70s.
