Following years of petitions from community members to build an H-E-B, the city of Manor welcomed the beloved Texas grocer back in October 2025. The 101,000-square-foot store, complete with an adjacent 14-pump fuel station, joined the Austin suburb and employed more than 300 people at the time of its debut.
Now, a new grocery project is planned as part of the Lapoynor Commons Center, according to new project filings registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) on Thursday, April 9. The specific retailer has yet to be named, but the project calls for the construction of a two-story development comprising a grocery store and retail unit on the ground level, followed by offices and a mezzanine on the second floor, per TDLR documents.
Located at 11724 Lapoynor St., Manor, TX 78653, construction work on the project is tentatively expected to begin around June 10 and wrap in mid-December, based on preliminary TDLR timeline details. The costs of the 6,600-square-foot project are estimated at around $500,000, but both cost and timeline details on construction filings are estimates and are subject to change without notice.
The project site is nestled south of Old Highway 20 and sits next to a Dollar General and just down the road from a Manor Express Mart convenience store.
