LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas will host a free shred day on Friday, April 17, in honor of Earth Day.
Presented by V-Tech Environmental Services, the event will take place at the Goodwill Career Resource Center at 6520 University Ave., Suite 11, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Community members can bring up to four boxes of personal documents for secure shredding.
Documents, papers, and folders can be brought without removing staples or paperclips. All items will be collected and placed into locked bins, then transported to Goodwill’s Document Destruction Facility. The facility operates under 24-hour surveillance, is HIPAA compliant, and is NAID Certified.
Every box of paper sent to Goodwill for document destruction helps reduce landfill waste while supporting Goodwill’s mission to create jobs and opportunities for individuals facing barriers to employment.
“Goodwill is proud to partner with V-Tech Environmental Services to offer a free Document Destruction Shred Day in celebration of Earth Day,” said Robin Raney, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Northwest Texas. “Events like this allow us to give back to the community while promoting sustainability, security, and opportunity — all core values of our mission to help individuals build skills, find jobs, and grow meaningful careers.”
