A 23-year-old man has been identified as the driver who died during a vehicle pursuit with Fort Worth police on April 5.
Hugo Gabriel Carrillo died from blunt force injuries in a vehicle accident in the 1600 block of Tarver Road in Burleson, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.
Before crashing, Carrillo was involved in a pursuit with Fort Worth police. Officers first encountered a vehicle driving without headlights on at 2:34 a.m. on Interstate 35 near Rosedale Street.

According to police, the vehicle struck another vehicle and did not stop. Officers attempted a traffic stop, but the driver, later identified as Carrillo, fled.
Police said Carrillo struck a second vehicle during the pursuit and failed to stop. The chase continued until the vehicle got off the highway near Tarver Road.
Officers briefly lost sight of the vehicle but later discovered it had crashed, police said.
Carillo was found dead inside, according to police. A passenger in the vehicle had minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, police said.
