Pending WNBA approval, the Connecticut Sun are moving to Houston next season to become the Houston Comets.

New York City – The WNBA Draft was an exciting one for Houston Comets fans who were eager to see who another team was selecting. Pending WNBA approval of the sale, the Connecticut Sun will move to Houston next season and will be renamed the Houston Comets.
In the first round with the 12th pick, the Sun selected Nell Angloma from France, and with the 15th pick (via Minnesota Lynx), Gianna Kneepkens from the recently crowned NCAA Champions, UCLA.
Then in the second round, the Sun went back to UCLA with their selection of Charlisse Leger-Walker and then a UConn selection in the third round, picking forward Serah Williams.
After the selection of Serah Williams, the Sun decided to make a trade.
Williams was sent to the Portland Fire for Taylor Bigby and the Fire’s 2027 third round pick.
The WNBA season begins on May 8th as the Sun will presumably begin their final season before moving to Houston.
