LOGAN, Utah (RELEASE FROM TEXAS TECH ATHLETICS) – No. 1 Texas Tech (41-3, 16-2) took its game against Utah State (16-26, 5-11) 17-7 on Monday in six innings. The game saw three lead changes and an explosion of offense in the final two innings.
Kaitlyn Terry improved to 16-1 on the season after throwing 1.1 perfect innings including two strikeouts. Samantha Lincoln got the start and had a shutout 4.0 innings before the Aggie bats got to her in the bottom of the fifth.
Lauren Allred was a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI in the game to lead the offense. Jasmyn Burns had two homers and is now at 10 on the season, the fourth Red Raider to reach double digit after having just one hitter over 10 last season. Terry hit her eighth homer of the season and finished with three RBI to go along with her win in the circle.
Mihyia Davis finished 2-for-4 with an RBI while Desirae Spearman, Mia Williams, Taylor Pannell and Logan Halleman all recorded hits. Tech also stole five bases, two coming from the cleats of Williams.
