After dropping a second straight SEC series, Texas softball fell one spot to No. 5 in the national rankings.

Texas (33-6, 10-5 SEC) dropped behind Florida as well as other SEC rival Alabama after 648 total points.

The latest rankings reflect the SEC’s continuing dominance. Six of the top 10 teams come from the conference, and 10 SEC teams earned a spot in the poll. Texas A&M moved up two spots to No. 12.

After losing the series to Oklahoma, Texas travels to No. 15 Georgia for a critical three-game series beginning Saturday in Athens, Ga.
