One man was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle crash on FM 400 on April 14.
At 7 a.m., Troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on FM 400 and County Road 5300 in Lubbock County, according to a preliminary report from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
According to the report, 37-year-old Jorge Calderon of Petersburg was killed and 55-year-old Monte Swanson of Ransom Canyon sustained mild injuries in the crash.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Swanson was northbound on FM 400 approaching the intersection with County Road 5300. Calderon was traveling westbound on County Road 5300 approaching the intersection with FM 400, where a stop sign controls traffic on CR 5300 before entering the intersection. They entered the intersection at the same time, causing Swanson to collide with Calderon’s driver side.
Calderon was pronounced dead at the scene and Swanson was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
