Dallas police officer charged with evading arrest, officials say

A Dallas police officer was arrested on Tuesday on charges of Evading Arrest or Detention in a Motor Vehicle according to a press release from the department.

Police say Senior Cpl. Joshua Gonzalez turned himself in to the Dallas County Jail Tuesday after a warrant was issued for the charges.

Gonzalez has been a member of the department since August 2010, officials say, and is assigned to the Criminal Intelligence Division.

Police say Gonzalez has since been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation.

As of the writing of this article, Gonzalez is no longer listed in the Dallas County Jail.
