A 12-year-old boy died Saturday after being hit by two vehicles while on foot along Texas 183 on Saturday night, Irving Police say.
The juvenile was hit at about 10:30 p.m. after police said he climbed over the concrete guardrail and into the express lane, where he was struck by two vehicles.
Irving Police said both vehicles continued westbound and stopped when it was safe to do so, where they contacted 911.
The victim has been identified by the medical examiner’s office as Jeremy Danilo Cruz-Sorto and his death has been ruled accidental.
The westbound State Highway 183 express lanes and main lanes were closed at the North Belt Line Road exit for several hours on Saturday night.
The case remains under investigation.
