7Brew, which was founded in 2017, has grown to be one of the fastest-growing coffee chains across the country with stands in 38 states. In Texas alone, the Arkansas-based chain’s drive-thru has more than 100 locations. Once open, this new stand will be the sixth around the Houston area.
According to the project details for the new 7Brew drive-thru, construction for the $1 million renovation is expected to be completed between July and September. But that doesn’t guarantee its official opening date, which has yet to be announced.Â
That restaurant space sat as a Salad and Go up until September, when all of the Houston-area locations were closed with employees notified just days before, as Chron previously reported. The closures came at a time when the chain planned to shut down dozens of other locations in Austin, San Antonio, Dallas-Fort Worth and Oklahoma. By the beginning of this year, Salad and Go made a complete exit from Texas and Oklahoma, and also moved its headquarters from the Dallas-Fort Worth suburb of Coppell to Arizona.
Now, Salad and Go only operates 70 locations across Arizona and Nevada. As Nation’s Restaurant News previously reported, this was a decision as part of the newly appointed CEO’s growth strategy for the brand. Specifically, Mike Tattersfield said “the company was growing just for growth’s sake” so he’s spent time on the remaining restaurants prioritizing the menu and operations. But not all hope is lost for Salad and Go in Texas.
“I told Texas we’ll be back, but we’ve got to get back with strength and be deliberate about how we grow and where,” he previously said. “This brand is a good idea and capital follows good ideas. Everybody is going to want one of these, but we have to be disciplined to get there.”
