COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – On Wednesday, Colorado Governor Jared Polis spoke at the 41st Space Symposium, announcing a new economic investment in the Pikes Peak Region. Ohio aerospace company SelectTech Services Corporation is planning to expand to El Paso County.
SelectTech provides manufacturing, as well as design, integration, and technical support for the U.S. military and its partners. The expansion is expected to create 150 jobs in the area, with an average annual wage of $85,927.
Those jobs include engineering and technical roles, as well as buyers, managers, technical writers, and planners.
“More and more aerospace companies are coming to Colorado because of our business environment, our skilled workforce, the ecosystem that exists with all the contractors and subcontractors and startups,” said Polis. “And as I like to say, we’re a mile closer to space. So for many reasons, including the wonderful U.S. Air Force Academy, we’re really the place to be.”
SelectTech is approved for up to $1,978,673 in a performance-based Job Growth Incentive Tax Credit from the state, broken down over an eight-year period. The credit is contingent on the country meeting job creation and salary requirements.
Currently, SelectTech has more than 160 employees, 13 of whom live in Colorado.
