Dozens of power outages were reported Wednesday morning, but the majority were noted to have happened in East and Far East El Paso.

EP Electric shared that the outages were caused by an “arc flash.”

In a statement emailed to KFOX14/CBS4, EP Electric confirmed two employees were injured and transported to a local hospital.

“We can confirm that two El Paso Electric employees were injured and transported to a local hospital following an incident today. Our thoughts are with our employees and their families, and we are focused on supporting them during this time. This is all we can share at this time, and we will not be participating in interviews. We will provide updates as appropriate,” EP Electric spokesperson Jacob Reyes said.

However, we have also asked if the outage was due to faulty equipment, but we have not received a response yet.

Power in the area has been restored.
