In San Antonio, Saturday afternoon temperatures are expected to be 20 to 30 degrees lower, compared to the previous day. The front will also bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to South Texas, which could affect Fiesta events happening in San Antonio. Here’s what you can expect.

Get ready for unseasonably warm and muggy weather in the next two days. San Antonio will start Thursday morning with temperatures hovering near 70 degrees under cloudy skies. Patchy mist or light drizzle are possible through the early hours of the morning, but many in the region will stay dry.

High atmospheric pressure over the Gulf of Mexico will move slightly westward, forcing temperatures to rise more than what San Antonio so far has experienced this week. Expect temperatures near 80 degrees at noon before they top out in the upper 80s by the late afternoon. Partly sunny skies are also expected.

Humidity will be especially high, forcing heat index values, or “feels like” temperatures to reach the lower 90s across South Texas. If you’re going to Fiesta Fiesta at Travis Park, be sure to stay properly hydrated.

Similar weather is expected on Friday, as morning temperatures near 70 degrees transition to afternoon highs near the 90-degree mark. Skies will stay partly cloudy, but rain chances will be very low across South Texas.

The cold front will start to push into the Texas Panhandle Friday night, then continuing into Central Texas by early Saturday. It will likely reach the San Antonio metro area between 10 a.m. and noon, bringing an immediate drop in temperatures.

San Antonio temps will likely sit in the 60s throughout much of Saturday afternoon, falling into the 50s after 11 p.m. Winds will also be quite breezy, coming in from the north at 15-20 mph with some periodic gusts of up to 30 mph expected.

Scattered showers and storms, a few of which could be strong, are also possible from the afternoon through the evening. Thankfully, rain is not expected to last all day, with overall chances of precipitation sitting at around 50%. Consider bringing an umbrella if you’re attending any outdoor Fiesta events, just in case.

Below-normal temperatures will continue on Sunday, with San Antonio starting the day in the mid-50s. Temps will likely rise into the upper 60s to lower 70s by the afternoon. Scattered showers are also possible, especially in the morning. Rain chances will fall to around 20% by the middle of the day, making for a rather pleasant day to be outside.

However, rain chances rise again on Monday, with a 50% chance of showers during the morning and afternoon. Another cool day is also expected, as temperatures are only expected to reach the upper 60s.

Temperatures will warm significantly by the middle of next week. San Antonio will see highs in the upper 70s by Tuesday, then likely rising back into the 80s by Wednesday and Thursday. Scattered thunderstorms will also be part of the forecast again by the second half of the week.
