PLANO, Texas – A deadly multi-vehicle crash closed an intersection in Plano early Wednesday morning, according to police.

What we know:

The crash happened just before 2 a.m. Wednesday. 

Investigators believe a black Toyota Camry that was heading north on Dallas Parkway ran a red light at West Plano Parkway. The car slammed into a blue Dodge Dart and then hit a traffic pole.

The driver of the Camry, 27-year-old Austin McCutcheon of Addison, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Dart was not hurt.

The intersection was completely shut down on Wednesday morning while police investigated the cause of the crash.

What we don’t know:

Police did not release any information about the events leading up to the crash or whether they suspect speed or alcohol was a factor.
