EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — Ahead of Halloween, El Paso is set to host a “Night Before Fright” on Thursday aimed at raising awareness for brain injuries.
The event, organized by Scherr Law Firm and the Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA), aims to raise funds for brain injury awareness and support.
Attendees can look forward to a costume contest with cash prizes, a beer pong tournament, a 50/50 raffle, and a silent auction.
DJs Johnny Kage and Yari will also be featured entertainment for the evening, along with a drag show.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the BIAA, which is dedicated to advancing awareness, research, treatment, and education for individuals impacted by brain injury.
Speaking to KFOX14/CBS4 on Tuesday, Mariana Murguia marketing assistant at Scherr’s Law Firm, said the event emphasizes the importance of timely access to expert trauma care, specialized rehabilitation, and lifelong disease management for those affected.
“With everything that’s changing in the country, we saw that there was a need, and we saw that there were that there needed to be a way to fill it,” Murguia said.
Each year, BIAA’s National Brain Injury Information Center assists over 30,000 individuals and their families in finding the necessary resources and support to manage the consequences of brain injury.
Night Before Fright will take place on Oct. 30 from 6 to 10 p.m. at The Toolbox located at 506 N Stanton.
