A Goose Creek CISD school counselor has been charged after allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with a student, according to court records.

Lorinda Bocardo, 43, has been charged with indecency with a child and improper relations with a student, according to Harris County court documents. Bocardo was arrested on Thursday and made bond later that same night, according to her attorney.

According to charging documents, Bocardo is accused of having made “sexual contact” with a minor. At the time of the alleged assault, the victim was a student enrolled at the school where Bocardo worked.

The alleged assault was reported to the Goose Creek CISD Police Department in December 2025, according to court documents. In the charging document, police said the victim told investigators Bocardo had acted inappropriately toward him since he was in middle school.

The victim also accused Bocardo of transferring from the middle school to the high school “to be with him,” according to court documents.

Bocardo was charged with both crimes on April 10.

Bocardo’s attorney, Jed Silverman, told Houston Public Media Friday that his client pleaded not guilty to the charges, has no prior criminal record, and that he “looks forward to going to court to deal with these cases.”

Goose Creek CISD did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding Bocardo’s employment status and the accusations against her.
