LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A suspected arsonist is in jail after a fire in central Lubbock.
Lubbock Fire Rescue reports someone set a storage shed on fire near 14th and Avenue W. A passerby saw someone running away from the fire and called 911.
By the time crews arrived, the flames had spread to a utility pole. Firefighters quickly put it out.
The Lubbock Fire Marshal’s Office reviewed video from nearby and identified a suspect. Lubbock ISD police detained them.
It is unclear whether the suspect was a juvenile or a student. The Fire Marshal’s Office has not released any other information about the suspect.
