Known as the “Front Porch of the Texas Hill Country,” Bulverde is located in Comal County, 19 miles west of New Braunfels and 21 miles east of Boerne. It’s known for its small but mighty food scene, with staples like Specht’s Texas, a 136-year-old bar and grill that once served as a Prohibition-era speakeasy; and Hatch Cafe & Bakery, which was featured on the Daytripper.
