DALLAS — Country star Ella Langley’s new song “Choosin’ Texas” has been a hit all over social media and on the airwaves.

As of this writing, the hit country tune has been No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks and on top of the country charts for the past 20 weeks.

In an interview with the Dallas Morning News, Stars forward Matt Duchene said he became a fan of hers during her last album, Hungover, which debuted in 2024. Her new album, Dandelion, which features Choosin’ Texas, dropped earlier this month. Langley even shot the music video for her hit song – with cameos from the likes of Miranda Lambert, Luke Grimes, Wade Bowen, Casey Donahew, J.B. Mauney and other professional bull riders – inside a Fort Worth ballroom, WFAA highlighted.

“We were kind of playing her stuff the last couple of years on the plane, and then she dropped that one, and it kind of became an unofficial anthem for us,” Duchene told the DMN.

And now, ahead of Game 1 of their Stanley Cup Playoffs series against rival Minnesota Wild, the Stars got a little surprise from Langley: Stars-themed Ella Fella hoodies.
