In addition to these accolades, Austin’s Nixta Taqueria has been awarded its first MICHELIN Green Star, highlighting its commitment to sustainability and innovative gastronomy. The restaurant sources ingredients hyper-locally, with the exception of heirloom corn from a family of farmers in Oaxaca, Mexico, used to craft their masa and tortillas.
Dai Due and Emmer & Rye, both based in Austin, have also retained their MICHELIN Green Stars, continuing to impress inspectors with their dedication to sustainable practices.
The announcement was made during a ceremony at the Wortham Theater Center in Houston, where the MICHELIN Guide revealed its second annual restaurant selection for Texas.
The 2025 edition features three new One MICHELIN Star restaurants and two new additions to the Green Star community, further cementing Texas as a burgeoning hub for culinary innovation.
