Dallas’ dining scene is once again in the international spotlight. The 2025 Michelin Guide awarded two Dallas restaurants with its coveted stars, one of the highest honors in the culinary world.
French-Italian restaurant Mamani, which opened less than two months ago, earned its first Michelin star during a ceremony held Tuesday night at Houston’s Wortham Theater Center. The Deep Ellum restaurant Tatsu Dallas also retained its one-star status for the second year in a row.
According to the Michelin Guide, Mamani, led by Chef Christophe De Lellis, delivers “top-drawer ingredients, faultless technique and world-class sauces.” The restaurant’s bistronomie-style menu features refined yet approachable dishes, including Dover sole with brown butter, veal “Cordon Bleu” with Robuchon’s signature pommes purée, and a Paris-Brest with praline cream.
De Lellis, formerly of Joël Robuchon in Las Vegas, opened Mamani just 48 days ago, making the recognition remarkably swift by industry standards.
Tatsu Dallas, located in Deep Ellum, retained its one-star rating for its intimate omakase experience led by Chef Tatsuya Sekiguchi, known for his meticulous preparation and creative presentation.
The 2025 Michelin Guide for Texas includes 18 starred restaurants across the state, as well as eight new Bib Gourmand honorees and 16 additional recommended eateries representing 33 cuisines.
Dallas now joins cities like Austin, Houston and San Antonio in the state’s expanding fine-dining recognition.
