“Texan here. Hold my beer,” Stephanie Wolfe responded.
Valerie Gonzalez Street added, “Someone’s never driven from El Paso to Beaumont and it shows.”
“baby girl, if I drive 14 hours in Texas, I’m still not in Oklahoma. I dare not imagine what Alaska has to say,” rahrahrasputeen replied.
Amber Essman attempted to defend the Midwesterners in the comments, writing, “To the Texans in the comments: It’s not the length of the drive. It’s the complete and utter void of literally anything except wind turbines. There is nothing. It is flat and straight and you will absolutely get stuck behind a Subaru for 87 miles. And I-70 is always under construction. And there is NOTHING to look at.”
david.r.fontenot countered with the reply, “Texas drivers measure distance by hours. El Paso to Dallas is 9 hours of the most monotonous and inhospitable terrain imaginable, and you’re still in the same state.”
