Organizers say the first 250 vehicles will receive free pet food.
A free pet food distribution is scheduled for April 20 as the Coastal Bend Food Bank partners with the Gulf Coast Humane Society to help local families care for their pets.
Mobile distribution will take place from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., or until supplies run out, at 5442 Bear Lane. Organizers say the event is limited to the first 250 vehicles.
According to the Coastal Bend Food Bank and Gulf Coast Humane Society, drivers are asked not to arrive before 5 a.m. and to remain in their vehicles at all times.
Pets should not be brought to the site, and attendees are encouraged to follow traffic directions and be patient as volunteers assist.
The effort is part of ongoing work to support pet owners in the community by providing access to essential food supplies.
